But behind the octave switch is an achingly cool spitting tone thatβs not unlike the sound of the white stripesβ icky thump. i kept trying to find an alternative to the deco in a small form factor (since i only really used it for the zero flange), and the hammertone does it really well. based on a dual silicon diode design popularised in the β60s, the hammertone fuzz is perfect for those looking for the sputtery gristle of legends like tony iommi and brant bjork as opposed to the creamier, more woofy end of the spectrum.
